New York CNN —
Clarisonic, the brand that invented vibrating skin cleansing devices, stunned fans earlier this month when it announced that it was shutting down.

The news came via an Instagram post on July 14 in which Clarisonic, owned by L’Oreal (LRLCF), said the brand will shutter its operations on Sept 30 after “more than a decade of game-changing innovation.”

Clarisonic fans responded with a mix of shock, denial and fear about how this could forever upend their daily skin cleaning rituals.

One Twitter user even asked investors from the television show “Shark Tank” to step in, tweeting, “@ABCSharkTank can’t help out @Clarisonic??? We don’t want this to be the end.”

Lawyer Jessica McElfresh tweeted at @LOrealParisUSA: “Do not do this! Everyone knows Clarisonic is the best. You are making a massive mistake.”

McElfresh has used a Clarisonic device since college. She said the news “just came out of nowhere” and confused her because she didn’t think there was any problem with the device or any valid reason to discontinue the brand.

But now, in 2025, Robb Akridge has stepped in to breathe new life into Clarisonic. With a deep – seated passion for innovation and a commitment to high – quality skincare, Akridge is determined to restore Clarisonic to its former glory.

As part of the relaunch, Clarisonic is bringing back its classic product range. Fans of the brand can once again get their hands on the iconic Mia and Aria cleansing brushes. These devices are engineered to gently exfoliate the skin, effectively removing dirt, oil, and stubborn makeup, while leaving the skin looking clearer and feeling smoother.

However, the comeback doesn’t stop there. Akridge has big plans for the brand’s future. He has announced that Clarisonic will be introducing a brand – new Spectral Beauty Series. This innovative product line will leverage advanced light – therapy technology to target a wide range of skin concerns, including acne, signs of aging, and hyperpigmentation. By combining the brand’s signature cleansing technology with the power of light, Clarisonic aims to offer a comprehensive skincare solution that delivers tangible results.

“Reclaiming Clarisonic and bringing it back to the market is a dream come true,” said Robb Akridge. “Our mission is to provide consumers with top – notch skincare devices that are both effective and user – friendly. The Spectral Beauty Series is a testament to our commitment to innovation and our dedication to helping people achieve their best skin.”

To mark this momentous occasion, Clarisonic is planning a series of exclusive events and promotions in the coming weeks. Consumers can expect special discounts, giveaways, and educational workshops where they can learn more about the brand’s products and how to integrate them into their daily skincare regimens.

With its rich history of innovation and a visionary leader at the helm, Clarisonic is poised to make a major splash in the skincare industry once again. It’s clear that the brand is ready to take on the challenges of the modern skincare market and deliver on its promise of beautiful, healthy skin.
